Breakin the habit

There is a superstition that if a person holds a tortoise to their chest, they (the person) will live very long. That probably explains why my mom's mom outlived my dads mom.

I used to have a tortoise but I never held it, leave alone hold it to my chest. It was horrifying to even go near it especially after it was seen catching and eating a big
live black lizard. The image still haunts me to this day. Some months later while the family was in Goa, it wandered into a forest and got lost forever.

I also had 2 rabbits named Snowy and Sandy. One of them ate cement and died, and the other went AWOL. Nelly also had 2 baby rabbits a year back. They died in a blast that happened in her building after a cylinder burst in the neighbours house. Her granny also died in that fire though she was rescued by her son.

You see a trend here? Pets don't remain with u for long. Everybody knows that, but if everybody applied the same knowledge to their relationships with others wudn't it help them become less possessive and resentful? No one belongs to anyone. Ppl come and go into and from ur life. No one stays back for ur convenience.
